In 1969, shortly after his high school graduation, Clyde embarked on his Tuttle career as a laborer. It was during this time that he received invaluable advice from his father, an employee at Tuttle: “You need a strong back and weak mind.” This guidance would shape Clyde’s approach to his work, emphasizing the importance of physical strength and a resilient mindset.

As the years progressed, Clyde’s loyalty to the company and aptitude for construction became evident. In 1974, after graduating from Taylor University, he continued his construction career at Tuttle as an expediter, working closely with Tom Tuttle, the president of Tuttle Construction at the time. This role allowed Clyde to gain valuable insights into the inner workings of the company and further refine his skills.

With each passing milestone, Clyde took on additional responsibilities and showcased his exceptional abilities. As a Project Manager and Estimator, he demonstrated a keen eye for detail, an innate understanding of project management, while delivering exceptional results. Clyde’s contributions did not go unnoticed, as he was invited to become a stockholder in 1982, solidifying his integral role within Tuttle Construction.

In 1991, after the retirement of Tom Tuttle, Clyde assumed the esteemed position of President and Owner of Tuttle Construction, Inc. Under his visionary leadership, the company witnessed significant growth and success, making strides in the construction industry. Recognizing the need for efficient administrative management, Clyde spearheaded the formation of Tuttle Services, Inc. on January 1, 2003. This new venture oversaw two subsidiary companies: Tuttle Construction, Inc. and Touchstone CPM.
