Institute for Orthopedic Surgery Expansion
About
Tuttle Construction and the Institute for Orthopedic Surgery (IOS) collaborated on a multi-phase project to provide state-of-the-art facilities for IOS and the Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio (OIO). Renovations and improvements included 49,000 square feet, two-story addition and 18,000 square feet of renovations to the existing facility.
The first phase of construction included the two-story addition. A new perioperative department, epidural clinic, pharmacy, main entrance/lobby, and requisite support spaces are located on the first floor. A new patient care unit, accommodating 24 patient rooms and support functions, is located on the second.
The final phase of construction was for the renovation. This included three new operating rooms, an expanded central sterile department, more equipment storage, and additional support functions. Along with an urgent care clinic, expanded dining/nutrition/lounge spaces, and provisions for the lab and lab draw functions.
